Desperately In Search of Good Current YA Titles
Somehow I’ve ended up in that situation that you never want to be in — I’ve read all of the books on my shelf and I don’t have any more coming from the library this week and I am desperately in need of something to read as I’m going to be in the hospital for a good five or six days starting Thursday. Boredom could result from this onerous situation. Please help! I’m planning a trip to Powell’s Books as soon as I get some current titles.
So far I’m looking at Justine Larbalestier’s Liar and Libba Bray’s Going Bovine as possibilities.
Any other recommendations?

Have you read “13 Reasons Why” by Jay Asher? You probably have but I liked that book a lot. Really liked an older series “One Fat Summer” by Robert Lipstyle. Had two follow-up books “Summer Rules” and “The Sumerboy.” I have not read the third in that series but found the first two at my local library. I’ll try to think of others, I do like reading the YA/teen books.

There is also a new Sarah Dessen out…..”Along for the Ride”, um I loved Sharon Creech’s “Love that Dog” and have bought but not yet read “Hate that Cat.” Others… I also enjoyed the “Peter and the Starcatchers” but am way behind in that series, they keep cranking them out. Made myself read the original Peter Pan first. They are enjoyable, I like Dave Barry, he is one goofy man! About to finish “Pride and Prejudice” then on to “Pride and Prejudice for Zombies” so we’ll see how that goes. Both “Masterpiece” by Elise Broach and “Flight of the Phoenix” by R.L. LaFevers were both illustrated by one of my favs, Kelly Murphy. Good luck and if you’ve read all there I will keep hunting!
